Il progetto musicale Tri Tracks nasce nel 2002 sulla direttrice Bologna-Imola in Italia. Tri Tracks è nato come progetto improvvisativo di matrice elettro-acustica anche se nell’attitudine del gruppo è presente un forte connotato elettronico, sia sul piano compositivo, sia nella ricerca sonora. Le forti radici elettroniche si possono riscontrare in alcuni frammenti di improvvisazione dove, l’aspetto armonico/melodico si fa meno presente ed emergono strutture ripetitive ed ipnotiche tipiche di una certa elettronica contemporanea sviluppata sul suono. La costruzione/decostruzione di flussi sonori e compositivi nasce da un orientamento improvvisativo quasi totale, talvolta mitigato da strutture che si ripetono meccanicamente e aritmicamente. Il meccanismo spontaneo dei Tri Tracks, affonda le sue radici nelle esperienze collettive d’avanguardia radicale degli anni ‘60/’70 concatenate con le improvvisazioni di un certo Post Rock e ad una elettronica rumorista e frequenziale estrema. Infatti la musica del trio si può anche inquadrare nella categoria eterogenea, aperta ed eclettica del Post Rock, inteso come “fusione” e intersecamento di costruzioni Rock, Punk, Funky, Jazz, Ambient, elettroniche e rumoriste, con una forte attenzione all’aspetto sonoro. L’aspetto analogico-digitale, nella sua dialettica sonora, viene esplorato ripetutamente dai Tri Tracks ed il trio si pone come progetto musicale “aperto” a collaborazioni e performance sia “live” che in studio. Una collaborazione importante si è verificata con il pianista Fabrizio Puglisi, in occasione del concerto all’Area Sismica di Ravaldino in Monte (Forlì). Il primo lavoro disponibile è il cd d’esordio del gruppo intitolato: “Live at Maffia”, registrato a Reggio Emilia nel febbraio 2003 durante una performance improvvisativa. Il secondo cd è una selezione dal concerto al Centro di Arte e Comunicazione Contemporanea L.Ceschia di Udine del 5 giugno 2004. Il trio è costituito da tre musicisti: Eliseo Scarpa basso e “jack”, Alessandro Petrillo chitarra elettrica/guitarsynth, giocattoli, oggetti, photo-theremin. Paolo Mongardi batteria e percussioni. Il primo proviene da esperienze Jazz/Rock e progetti elettronici (vedi gli attuali Serial Thc e DTR), mentre il secondo e il terzo musicista fanno parte del complesso di rock sperimentale Transgender e collaborano con vari progetti orientati al Jazz, al Rock e all’aspetto etnico/ambientale.

The Tri Tracks project is born in 2002, along the Bologna-Imola axis in Italy. Tri Tracks is born as an improvisational project dealing with electro-acoustic instruments, although the project retains a strong electronic feeling pertaining the compositional and the impact of the sound of its music. The electronic roots can be observed in some improvisational fragments where the presence of simpler melodic and harmonic constructions leave room for hypnotic, repetitive structures typical of a certain contemporary electronic music focused on sound shaping. The construction and deconstruction of the sound fluxus originates from an almost totally improvisational orientation, sometimes mitigated by mechanical and arrhythmic repeating structures. The spontaneous mechanism of Tri Tracks has its roots in the collective radical avant-garde experiences of the 60's and the 70's mixed with the improvisational attitude exhibited by some Post Rock bands, noise and frequential electronic music. In fact this project can be considered as part of the heterogeneous, open and eclectic category of Post Rock, intended as an area were Rock, Punk, Funky, Jazz, Ambient, Noise and electronic elements meet and fuse together, with a particular attention to the sonic structure of the music. The analog-digital debate is continuously explored by Tri Tracks, and the Trio can be considered a musical project open for co-operations both for studio and live performances. A first important featuring has been the one with the pianist Fabrizio Puglisi, at Area Sismica in Ravaldino in Monte (Forlì). The first available work is the debut cd titled "Live at Maffia", a recording of a live performance in Reggio Emilia portraying an improvisational session held in February 2003, while the new cd is a selection from the live recording at Centro Europeo di Arte e Comunicazione Contemporanea L.Ceschia (Udine), 6/5/2004. The project is composed by three musicians: Eliseo Scarpa on electric bass and "cables", Alessandro Petrillo on electric guitar/guitarsynth, photo-theremin, toys and objects. Paolo Mongardi on drums and percussions. Eliseo is involved in jazz, rock and electronic music projects (like Serial Thc and DTR) while Alessandro and Paolo are members of the experimental rock band Transgender and cooperate with various projects oriented to jazz, rock and ethnic/ambient music.
